Sankt Helene is created with an ambition to unite architecture, nature, wellbeing and long-term responsibility. Sustainability is therefore integrated into the project – from early decisions and material choices to building performance, resource consumption and interaction with the surrounding landscape.

As part of this ambition, the project is working purposefully towards DGNB Platinum certification, supplemented by DGNB Diamond for architectural quality and DGNB Heart for a documented focus on human wellbeing, health and comfort. The ambition reflects the desire to create a resort where sustainability, architecture and the user experience go hand in hand.

DGNB is a holistic certification system for sustainable construction, in which quality is assessed across a range of environmental, economic and social parameters. This means that sustainability is not only about energy and
materials, but also about indoor climate, functionality, longevity,
resource use and the long-term quality of the built environment.

For Sankt Helene, the ambition is about more than meeting a set of requirements. It is about creating a place that respects its unique surroundings and incorporates solutions that make sense – both today and for many years to come.

Architecture, materials and landscape are therefore developed with a focus on quality, durability and a reduced environmental footprint. At the same time, the chosen solutions should support the very essence of Sankt Helene: creating a setting for peace, wellbeing and presence close to nature.

The DGNB process will thus be an important tool for continuously refining the project’s solutions and documenting the sustainable choices made along the way. The goal is to create a resort that not only feels like a natural part of Tisvildeleje and the surrounding landscape, but also represents a high standard for the sustainable construction of the future.

That is why Sankt Helene strives for the highest possible DGNB certification level, as a natural extension of the ambition to create a place defined by quality, consideration and respect for both people and nature.
